Care & conditioning
Make your flowers last
A few minutes of care can add days of life. Here's our simple routine for keeping every arrangement looking its best.
Step 1
Trim the stems
Cut about an inch off each stem at a 45° angle with sharp scissors. A clean cut lets stems drink more water.
Step 2
Strip lower leaves
Remove any leaves that would sit below the waterline. They rot quickly and shorten vase life.
Step 3
Fresh water, daily
Change the water every two days and re-trim a sliver off the stems each time.
Step 4
Keep them cool
Place flowers away from direct sun, heat vents and fruit bowls — ripening fruit speeds up wilting.
Step 5
Use the food
Add the flower food sachet to the vase water, and top up rather than replace between changes.
Step 6
Enjoy, then compost
Once blooms pass, add stems to your compost. They'll feed the next garden.
